Electric Bike Rebate
Colorado is implementing a statewide e-bike rebate program available to low- and moderate-income Coloradans. Residents will apply for the program prior to buying an e-bike. Those receiving a rebate will need to buy the e-bike from a participating retailer. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for e-bike retailers who sell any class of e-bike per the State of Colorado e-bike definition. This includes electric assisted bicycles equipped with motors that provide assistance…
Class 1
…only when the rider is pedaling, up to a speed of 20 mph
Class 2
…regardless of whether the rider is pedaling, up to a speed of 20 mph
Class 3
…only when the rider is pedaling, up to a speed of 28 mph
Other e-bike eligibility requirements:
- Has two or three wheels and fully
operable pedals. - Electric motor is 750 watts or less; may
not be gasoline-powered. - Full-suspension mountain bikes
are not eligible for this rebate.
- Maximum prices: $5,000 for e-bikes and
$8,500 for e-cargo bikes - E-Cargo bikes are eligible but must have
an extended frame designed to carry
additional people or cargo.

4. Get Approved. The program administrator will review your application to see if you qualify and will reach out if more
information is needed.
5. Get a Rebate Code. If your application is approved, you receive an email with a rebate code. Bring that code to a
participating bike retailer and redeem it with the purchase of a qualifying E-Bike”

E-Bike Retailer Requirements:
- Retailers must sell qualifying e-bikes.
- Retailers are required to confirm the name on each e-bike rebate matches the name of the e-bike buyer by checking the customer’s identification at the time of purchase.
- Bike shops are required to input e-bike serial numbers into APTIM’s Rebate Portal at the point of sale.
- Tax, shipping costs, and any other fees are not eligible for the e-bike rebate.
- Helmets and locks will qualify for an additional rebate.
- If an e-bike is returned, participating retailers must notify and return the rebate amount to State of Colorado within 60 days.
- The State of Colorado and APTIM reserves the right to suspend and/or remove approved retailers from the
program at any time if the program rules are not being followed, or the retailer engages in unethical business
practices.
